The short version
If something arrives damaged, faulty or simply is not what you ordered, that is our problem to fix and we will fix it — a replacement or a full refund of what you paid, and we cover the cost of sending it back.
If you have changed your mind, you have 7 days from delivery to tell us, and the piece needs to come back unused and in its original packaging. A few things cannot be returned at all — chiefly anything we made or engraved specifically for you — and those are listed in section 5 so there are no surprises.
Every return starts the same way: send us your order number and a photograph, on WhatsApp or by email to ojcollection123@gmail.com. Please do not ship anything back before we have replied — see section 6.
Cancelling an order
You can cancel any order free of charge at any point before it is dispatched. Tell us as soon as you can and we will stop it and refund you in full. Because pieces are packed by hand and often go out the same day, the sooner you tell us the more likely we are to catch it.
Once an order has been handed to the courier it can no longer be cancelled, but it can still be returned under section 3 or 4 once it reaches you.
We may occasionally have to cancel an order ourselves — a piece turns out to be damaged, a listing was priced wrongly, or we cannot deliver to your pin code. If that happens you get the full amount back and an explanation, and we will do our best to offer you an alternative first.
If you have changed your mind
Tell us within 7 days of delivery and we will take the piece back. To be accepted it needs to reach us:
- unused, unworn and undamaged, with no scratches or marks;
- in its original box and packaging, with any pouch, card, tag or certificate it came with;
- packed well enough to survive the journey — a returned parcel that arrives crushed is a returned parcel we cannot refund in full.
Return postage for a change of mind is yours to pay. We sent the piece to you free of charge; sending it back is the one cost a change of mind carries. Once the piece is back with us and checked, the refund is issued as described in section 7.
Pierced jewellery — earrings and anything else worn through a piercing — can only be returned for a change of mind if it is unworn and its seal or packaging is intact. That is a hygiene rule, not a technicality, and it does not apply where the piece is faulty.
If it arrived damaged, faulty or wrong
Tell us within 48 hours of delivery and send photographs of the piece and of the packaging it came in. Where you can, photograph or film the parcel as you open it — that is what settles a courier claim quickly, and it stops existing the moment the box is unpacked and thrown out.
We will replace the piece or refund you in full, whichever you would prefer, and we arrange and pay for the return — you are never out of pocket for our mistake or the courier’s.
The 48-hour window is about evidence, not about catching you out. If you were travelling, or the parcel sat with a neighbour, tell us what happened — we would still rather sort it out than stand on a deadline.
What cannot be returned
All of these are still covered by section 4 if they arrive damaged or faulty. Nothing below limits your rights when we have got it wrong.
- Personalised and made-to-order pieces — anything engraved with a name or date, adapted to your design, or made specially for you. It was made for one person and cannot be sold to anyone else.
- Pieces damaged after delivery — by wear, by a fall, by polishing with something abrasive, or by alteration or repair by someone else.
- Anything returned incomplete — missing its box, tag, pouch or a part of a set.
- Anything told to us after the 7-day window has closed.
How to start a return
- Message us on WhatsApp or email ojcollection123@gmail.com — or call one of the numbers in section 10 — with your order number, which piece it is about, and what has gone wrong.
- Send a photograph. For damage, include the outer packaging as well as the piece.
- Wait for us to confirm. We will tell you whether to send it back and to which address, and who is paying the postage.
- Pack it as it arrived and send it. Keep the tracking number and send it to us — an untracked return that never arrives cannot be refunded.
Please do not post anything back before we have replied. Unannounced returns arrive with nothing to match them to, which is how a genuine refund ends up delayed for weeks.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back by the same route the money came — the card, UPI app or account you paid from. We cannot redirect a refund to a different account, which is a rule of the payment system rather than ours.
We approve or query a return within two working days of it reaching us. Once approved, the money is released to Razorpay the same day, and it typically appears in your account within 5–10 working days depending on your bank. For a cancellation before dispatch, the clock starts the day we cancel.
A refund covers what you paid for the piece, which — delivery being free — is the whole of what you paid us. We will tell you the exact amount before we issue it.
A word on handmade pieces
Everything here is made by hand, in brass, copper and oxidised silver. Two pieces of the same design will not be identical: the depth of an oxidised finish, the exact tone of the brass, small variations in a hammered surface and the way a patina settles are all part of how the work is made, and they are why it does not look machine-stamped.
Photographs are taken as faithfully as we can manage, but screens differ and metal is difficult to photograph. Natural variation of this kind is not a fault and is not covered by section 4. A genuine defect — a crack, a broken clasp, a fault in the plating, a piece that does not match its description — very much is.
If you are unsure before ordering, ask us on WhatsApp and we will send you a photograph of the actual piece we would send. We would much rather do that than take a return.
Delivery
Delivery is free, anywhere in India. There is no minimum order, no threshold to reach, no charge that depends on where you live and no handling fee — the total shown in your cart is the amount you are asked to pay, and nothing is added at the payment window.
Because we did not charge you to send the piece out, a refund is simply what you paid for the piece itself. Where you have changed your mind, the cost of posting it back to us is yours; where something was damaged, faulty or wrong, we arrange and pay for that too, as set out in section 4.
Orders from outside India
Checkout on this site delivers within India only — it takes an Indian pin code and charges in rupees, and the free delivery above is free delivery in India. We do ship worldwide, but an international order is arranged with us directly on WhatsApp, where we can quote the actual carrier cost to your country before you commit to anything.
Everything in this policy applies to those orders too, with two differences worth knowing first: return postage from outside India is expensive and, for a change of mind, it is yours to pay; and any customs duty or import charge levied in your country is set and collected by that country, so it is not ours to refund.
If an international order arrives damaged, talk to us before sending anything back. Return shipping across a border is often the worst option for both of us, and there is usually a better one.
